Youth Improv to Acting for beginners
10-Week Course
What Students Will Learn Over 10 Weeks: Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of improv and acting, then gradually build their skills through guided practice, games, and performance. This class helps students become confident, adaptable, creative individuals through a suportive and fun learning environment where they are encourage to express their creativity freely. Improv is about learning how to react, adapt, and recover in any situation. Students will learn:
Improv Foundations:
- Listen and respond in the moment
- Think Creatively under pressure
- Collaborate with others and support scene partners
- Build confidence by trusting their instincts
Acting & On-Camera Basics:
- Showing emotion authentically
- Creating and developing charaters
- Understanding basic on-camera acting techniquesrs
- Using body language, facial expression, and voice effectively
Scene Study & Performance:
- Work on short scripted scenes
- Learn how to analyze a scene and understand character choices
- Memorize and perform monologues
- Practice performing in front of others in a supportive, encouraging setting
Beyond acting and improv, students develop skills that benefit them in everyday life. These skills support students in school, friendships, creative projects, and any situation where they need to think on their feet.

My child/children has my consent to participate in any of the class activities for this Intro to Improv class. Courses are provided by Central Florida Cities with instructors from the improv troupe Generation Improv. I understand that he/she must abide by the rules set forth by the teachers and staff of Central Florida Cities. I understand that a violation of these rules may lead to temporary or permanent suspension of my child from class. I understand that the very nature of the improv and acting can carry a risk of physical injury no matter how careful the participant and the instructor are. I agree to, and by the signing of this agreement, release the owner, instructors and all staff members of Central Florida Cities from any claim of negligence by myself, my child/children, my heirs, executors and assignees, from any liability arising from claims for damages from injury to my child/children and any claims for loss of or damage to his/her property which may arise out of his/her participation in Central Florida Cities Improv program for the 2026 season.
